2nd Annual Los Cabos Classic / Stand UP Paddle Race


The 2nd Annual Los Cabos Classic is taking place over 3 days, November 4 – 6 2011, at Palmilla Bay located in San Jose del Cabo. The Classic is open to all levels of amateur Paddle Boarders (men and women) along with select professional Paddle Boarders from Mexico and the United States who will be invited by the competition hosts.

Los Cabos Classic divisions:

* SUP boards will be restricted to stock class (12’6” boards and shorter) *
Age divisions:
Pro – 18 to 50
Amateur- 18-50
Master – 50 +
Relay Teams. 4 man teams including 1 female per team

Schedule:

Friday, November 4.
Welcome beach party for all the competitors and sponsors.
Saturday, November 5.
12 mile race Point to Point (P2P) Punta Gorda to Palmilla.
Sunday, November 6.
4 Miles Course Race (Inside Palmila Bay)
4 Miles Relay Team Race (Teams of 4 including 1 female).


Additional Info

Fun races, demo boards and instructions from the pros will take place at the Palmilla Beach during the entire event.

These fun races will be open to all ages and abilities.

On Sunday evening following 2 days of competition, Los Cabos Classic Awards Dinner Party will be held at the Beach . Hosted by Snell Real Estate and Del Mar Development, where the competitors and guests will enjoy an authentic Baja sea food tacos buffet, live music and a live raffle. The Classic Party is open to the public and tickets may be purchased at the door.

Proceeds raised from the SUP Classic will be donated to the local Los Cabos Tortugas Foundation.

Kayakers, Surf skies, outriggers, etc. are welcome to the Point to Point Race.

Yet again this morning there’s a wind line on the horizon to the north as the El Norte winds begin to fill in for the sixth day in a row for the the last day of the Lord Of The Wind here in Los Barrilles. Yesterday saw Kevin Pritchard stomp the kiters in the winner take all Lord Of The Wind windsurfer v. kiter race taking home $3,500 for his effort. The Shadowbox crew finished the Kite Big Air heat with the highest jump 34.6 feet. Complete event results to come. A big shout out to the event organizers Dan and Chris! This is their inaugural event and its been one of the best events that the EpicSessions.tv crew has been involved in. Its not easy to pull off video streaming on the beach here in Mexico but with the dedicated crew working with us for our connection, power, and literally anything else that we needed, we made it work with minimal issues.
